Curriculum Gabriele Ceci – Violin
Born in Bari in April 1990 in a family of musicians, he made his mark at a very young age at the “Vittorio Veneto” competition in 2004 and in a duo (violin and piano), with his brother Mirco, he played for important concert seasons: “Teatro Piccinni” in Bari, “Camerata Salentina”, Festival Pontino, “Mantova Musica Contemporanea”, “Fondazione Walton e La Mortella” Ischia,
“Accademia Filarmonica” in Messina, “Società dei Concerti” in Milan, etc. In February 2011 he passed the selection for the “Schaffhausen” chamber music specialization courses with
the masters Menahem Pressler, Ana Chumachenco, Wen-Sinn Yang and Werner Bärtschi. He collaborates in chamber projects with renowned artists such as Thomas Ruge, Evgeny Sinaiski, with Giulio Rovighi, Alfredo Zamarra, Giovanni Gnocchi, Laura Marzadori at the Accademia dei Cameristi in Bari and with Franco Petracchi, Bruno Giuranna, Rocco Filippini and Mariana Sirbu for the “Festival Pontino” and for the concert seasons “Omaggio a Cremona”. He plays Mozart’s concerto in A major KV219 with the Bari Symphony Orchestra and the concerto KV218 with the Symphony Orchestra of the Teatro Petruzzelli. He plays the double concerto with piano by F. Mendelssohn at the Teatro Comunale in Ferrara, and also the concerto for violin and orchestra op. 64. With the chamber orchestra of the Accademia Perosi in Biella he performs the double and triple concerto by J. S. Bach. In 2016 he recorded music by Paganini and Giuliani for violin and guitar for IMD Music. He attended the Masterclasses of Massimo Quarta, Mariana Sirbu, Zakhar Brohn (at the Kronberg Academy) and Salvatore Accardo (at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena and the Accademia “Stauffer” in Cremona). He obtained the II Level Degree in Violin at the G. Frescobaldi Conservatory in Ferrara under the guidance of Maestro A. Perpich. Since 2009, his studies have continued at the Accademia Perosi in Biella, with the Masterclasses of Ana Chumachenco and with the annual courses of Maestro Rudens Turku. He won the II Prize at the XIX International Violin Competition “Andrea Postacchini” with the special prize for the best performance of the Capricci by N. Paganini and in 2014 the First Prize (Foerdepreis) in the International Violin Competition of Starnberg (Munich). In September 2015 he won the 2nd prize at the prestigious R. Lipizer International Violin Competition with the special prize for the best performance of the romantic concerto for violin and orchestra. At the request of Maestro S. Accardo he collaborates with the Orchestra da Camera Italiana conducted by him and from 2014 to 2024 he held the role of Konzertmeister of the first violins of the Orchestra della Fondazione Lirico Sinfonica “Petruzzelli e Teatri di Bari”.
He collaborates as first part with the Orchestra dell’Opera di Roma and with the Orchestra del Teatro La Fenice di Venezia.
He plays an instrument by the Genoese luthier Paolo Castello from 1786.
