The duo “The Shirvani Sisters” formed by the sisters Leila and Sara Shirvani makes its debut in Messina. Young, beautiful, gentle and rich in talented, daughters of art, born in Rome but of Anglo-Persian origin, equipped with an innate talent, have studied respectively the cello with their father and piano with their mother, developing a very high musical sensitivity level. Born in 1992 Leila Shirvani at the age of 6 was the absolute winner of the “S. Cecilia ”of Naples and this success has been repeated over 30 times in national and international competitions. Graduated in “Cello Performance” at the University of West London, awarded the academic title Fellow of the London College of Music, Leila Shirvani perfected in Rome, at the National Academy of Santa Cecilia under the guidance of Giovanni Sollima. Sara Shirvani born in Rome in 1999, winner of numerous first prizes in national and international competitions including the prestigious “Valentino Bucchi” competition (edition of up to 16 years), soon began to approach chamber music by playing four hands with the Mother from a very young age and in duo with her sister Leila. The sisters held recital in the Ravenna Festival, at the Palazzo Braschi in Rome on the occasion of the “Suona Roma” review, at the Gulf Festival of Castellabate, for the friends of the Music in Milan, at the “New Musical Spaces” Festival in Ascoli Piceno, at the “Festival delle Arti” (RC), at the Cyrano Theater in Rome. In March 2017, the journalist Cinzia Fiorato made a short documentary on “The Shirvani Sisters” entitled “Notes without borders” broadcast on Rai1.
