Massimo Mazzone graduated in clarinet with top marks in 1979 at the Conservatory “G. Verdi” in Turin under the guidance of Maestro Peppino Mariani. In 1980 he won the international competition at the E.C.Y.O orchestra with which he played in the most prestigious European festivals under the direction of Maestros H.V. Karajan and C. Abbado. From 1983 to 1992 he collaborated with the autonomous body of the Teatro “alla Scala” in Milan. He worked as first clarinet in the orchestras: Internazionale d’Italia, Fondazione “A. Toscanini” of Parma, Sicilian Symphony Orchestra, “Arena di Verona” Foundation, Lugano Radio Orchestra, he is currently first clarinet of the Turin Philharmonic Orchestra. He carries out solo and chamber activities nationally and internationally: Europe, United States, China, Japan… He combines his solo activity with teaching, he has held clarinet Masters in the East, Europe and the United States, and since 1984 he has held the chair of Clarinet at the “G.F. Ghedini” Conservatory of the City of Cuneo. He plays with “Concerto” clarinets from the “Fratelli Patricola” company
